The Library Assistant II, Electronic Resources position in the Sheridan Libraries assists with ordering, activation, renewal, and problem resolution for electronic resources requested for the Libraries’ collections. Duties include: place orders with vendors and publishers using a variety of tools. Troubleshoot access issues. Communicate/collaborate with library staff and vendors of licensed electronic resources in resolving ordering, licensing, and connection problems. Create and maintain accurate purchase orders and serials control records in the Libraries’ Integrated Library System (ILS), Electronic Resources Management System, as well as maintain spreadsheets, databases, and paper files. Assist with other serials tasks as time permits. The position reports to the Acquisitions/Rapid Cataloging Coordinator. The Sheridan Libraries are strongly committed to diversity. Qualifications:

High school diploma with 1-2 years related library experience (additional education may be substituted); familiarity with a Western European language; comfort with PCs, Excel and electronic information resources/World Wide Web; accurate proofreading skills and attention to detail; excellent problem solving and communication skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

OCLC experience, BA degree, and/or serials/e-resources acquisition experience preferred.
