This guide, a work in progress, is primarily intended to assist faculty and students of the Johns Hopkins University in locating key business information resources that are available for their academic research through the Milton S. Eisenhower Library. Students and faculty may contact Heather Tapager, Librarian for Business and Economics, with questions regarding this guide or use of the library's collections.
1) Set up your personal computer for remote access to electronic library resources. Then, use your JHED login ID and password as your JHU user authentication to enter the resources.
2) Activate your library account, using your J-Card, with Circulation or through your JHU campus library staff. It will enable you to use the web-based document delivery services and more.
3) Read this Getting Started in the JHU Libraries guide for key services and information.
4) Review the examples for electronic resources in the MLA or APA style guides. Note the type of information to gather for your bibliography as you do your research. Criteria will differ for actual print resources versus information found through licensed electronic resources.
A reference librarian is also available to provide immediate assistance during the weekdays, evenings and weekends. Call the Information Desk at 410-516-8335 and ask to speak to the librarian on duty. If you prefer to e-mail a librarian with a general question, you may use the Ask-A-Librarian service.
